LooK Noodles serves a wide variety of Asian food – takeout or dine in. We specialize in authentic Japanese restaurant food like Ramen noodle soups, Teppanyaki stir-fried entrees and traditional rice bowls. Each of these offers a choice of protein – chicken, pork, beef, seafood or tofu – and we also cook strictly vegetarian versions for our diners who prefer vegan meals.
Japanese Ramen Noodle Soups
Tonkotsu Ramen originated in Fukuoka on the island of Kyushu. Tonkotsu is a breaded deep-fried pork cutlet; and here we serve it in a creamy miso-based broth with ramen noodles, Ajitama egg, menma, corn, scallions and nori. This is one of the most popular dinner choices in our Austin Japanese restaurant, and also a great takeout meal.
Chashu Ramen is a shoyu-based noodle soup with chasu (braised pork) also including an Ajitama egg, scallion, corn and nori. Our Seafood Ramen has a miso-based broth with shrimp, squid and fish cake. It is served with menma, corn, scallions, nori and an Ajitama egg in the traditional Japanese style.
Teppanyaki Stir-Fried Noodle Entrees – Okazu
One of the most enjoyable things about eating in an Asian restaurant serving Japanese and Chinese food is the variety of noodle dishes. We have ramen, soba and udon noodles; and cook these with a large selection of protein options and sauces.
Our Spicy Yakiudon platter has stir-fried udon noodle with your choice of beef, shrimp, chicken, tofu – or vegetarian. It comes with savory broccoli, carrots, cabbage and onion. Teppanyaki Yakisoba has stir-fried soba noodles in a milder sauce. We cook these on the traditional Japanese teppan grill with your choice of protein and a vegetable medley including cabbage, onions, carrot and broccoli.
Appetizers – Side Dishes – Dessert
We have an excellent menu of appetizers including Edamame (steamed soybeans), Gyoza (pan-fried dumplings) and Seaweed Salad. As a side dish, many diners prefer our Japanese rice bowls – fried (Chahan) or steamed (Gohan 御飯). And for dessert you can choose from mango, strawberry or green tea flavored Mochi ice cream!
Come have lunch or dinner at our restaurant at 1914 Guadalupe Street in Austin TX – near UT West Campus and downtown. We have free parking for diners and takeout customers. Our food and atmosphere will transport you to the Land of the Rising Sun!
Nihongo Resutoran – Austin Texas Japanese Cuisine and Catering
Although LooK Noodles is predominantly a Japanese restaurant, we also have many Chinese food items on the menu. Our Chinese style Fried Pork Chop Noodle Soup, Chajang Noodles and Stewed Pork Knuckle Noodle Soup are very popular with UT students and takeaway customers.
We do not offer delivery for small orders; but for corporate events or large parties, we can provide a complete Japanese food catering service. Call us at (737) 484-1378 to talk with us about your event. We can recommend a mix of Asian entrees and side dishes that will please everyone in attendance.
Best Japanese Restaurant near UT in Austin Texas
Nutrition experts generally agree that Japanese food is very healthful and delicious. In contrast with many types of Western food, most Asian cultures use a minimal amount of red meat, fats and dairy products. And, since Japan is an island nation, our cuisine favors grilled seafood (shrimp, squid and fish) and raw seaweed — nori.
At LooK Noodles we use authentic recipes, fresh ingredients and traditional cooking methods. Let us show you how wonderful our Chinese-Japanese restaurant and takeout service can be. We look forward to cooking you a memorable meal. Domo arigatou gozaimasu!
